“Google Maps for WoW” or “Someone Went a Tad Nuts With the Colors Palette”
Via Kotaku, this is what Azeroth looks like from the top-down!

Remarkable how the strong zone borders and radical theme breaks stand out here – and how they bespeak the whole themepark experience further for a game like WoW.
as opposed to the Skyrim experience where you get a more consistent, authentic feeling of an open world with a more realistic geology and climatical conditions (flora, fauna etc.).
It is a little crazy. I mean I know the original intent was to never really let you see it altogether, but the flight paths initially, and then the ability to fly in vanilla zones sort of took all of that away.
That is all kinds of amazing. I barely even notice how stark the transitions are when I’m close to the ground.
Syl is right, the aerial view does highlight the theme park nature of the world. Aerial shots of DIsneyland look very similar. It’s funny to think that they both use the same tricks.
Yup, full of flavor and on invisible rails, hahaha!
Very cool pics, that is pretty awesome
