Quote/Facepalm/WTF of the Day: “Raping Logic” or “Leave it to Fox”

“The increase in rapes can be attributed in large part to the playing out of [sexual] scenes in video games.”

– Dr. Carole Lieberman, Is Bullet Story the Worst Videogame in the World?, Fox News

I love that qoute. It is *brilliant*.

So what is every rape-statistic shows the excact opposite? or the fact that pretty much every study show that most rapist in fact, ‘quell their thirst’ from movies and games, so they do it there, instead of in real life.
    so what?
This way, we get to blame everything on games!!

I loved the part in the article where they said these types of games with achievements like “Topless” for decapitating someone, and “Gang bang” for a multiple-kill, have negative sexual connotations for the 9-year olds playing them.

Wait, 9-year olds? Where do they get this data? And why is the base assumption that 9-year olds are playing Bulletstorm? Perhaps most significantly, shouldn’t the parents be solely ‘blamed’ for allowing the kid access to a strictly Rated-R title, or perhaps the parents themselves are rated-r, for retarded.
