I think they should leave the ending the way it is. A new ending just diminishes the meaning for me. I feel the developers care more about making people happy than sticking to their vision. What if an author changed the ending of a book just to make you happy. Then it is no longer his story, but yours. The devs need to grow some nuggets sometimes.

The problem isn’t just that the ending sucked. I’ve been disappointed by stuff like that before and not really cared. What the problem really is is two things.

First, ME as a series emphasized choices and their repercussions. While it did play some roles before the ending, you could have almost played any way you wanted to and gotten the same three endings which YOU get to pick anyways. You can be full Renegade and just randomly decide to do Paragon.

Secondly, Bioware kind of lied. In interviews leading up to the game and such, they promised an ending that changed based on your decisions. 16 endings my ass. Also, they promised to provide closure, resolution, and explanations but they really didn’t do a good job at it. Seeing that ending scene with the Normandy wasn’t really closure. Don’t forget that whole day one DLC being finished after the game was done but magically was still on the disk if you change just one line of code. That’s messed up.

That’s why I want a different ending. The whole thing reeked of EA rushing the project to avoid another delay. More companies need to act like Blizzard and only release things when they know it’s ready.
